Jolie Moi Size & Wash Care Guide

There are ways to keep your clothes looking new for a longer period of time by following the appropriate guides on the care label during washing.

In this section we will advise you on, size guide, washcare do’s & dont’s, washcare symbols. We will also cover how to measure, and ‘how-to’ measuring tips, (please note all our measurements are in cm’s).

How to measure:

Bust is measured around the fullest part of the bust and across the shoulder blades with non-padded bra on.

Waist is measured around the natural waistline i.e. narrowest part between bust and hips. 

Hips are measured at the widest part of the thighs with legs kept together.

Inside leg is measured at the crotch to the anklebone.

Jolie Moi wash care guidelines

There are ways to keep your clothes looking new for a longer period of time by applying the following rules during washing:

• Always read the care label inserted into the garment and follow the washing instructions accordingly.

• Do not overload your washing machine.

• Sort your washing according to similar wash care instructions and similar colours.

• Do not leave garments with white and coloured panels soaking for too long a period.

• Turn garments inside out before washing especially jeans, printed garments and garments with embellishments on them i.e. beads, sequins etc.

• Wash garments at correct temperature. If unsure, wash at a lower temperature rather than a higher temperature.

• Do not use too much detergent.

• Do not use fabric detergents containing bleach.

• When hand washing garments, rinse until water runs clear.

• Do not spin any wool, acetate, viscose or mix garments.

• Dry as stated on the washing instructions.

• Do not tumble dry garments unless stated on washing instruction.

• Always Dry Clean garments when stated on the washing instruction.

• Take care when ironing; always follow the instructions on the washing instructions label.

• Always iron garments that have prints or embellishments on the reverse.

Ironing Symbols

The iron symbol shows you the temperature most suitable for your garment. The more dots on the symbol the hotter the temperature of the iron.

1 dot represents a cool iron temperature of approximately 110°c. This termperature is best used for acrylics, nylons and acetates.

2 dots on the symbol is a warm iron temperature of approximately 150°c. This termperature is suitable for polyester mixes, and wool garments.

3 dots on the symbol is a hot iron temperature of 200°c. This termperature is suitable for cottons and linens.

This symbol shows that your clothes are not suitable to iron.

Washing Symbols

The washtub symbol shows you whether your garment is suitable for machine washing. The recommended temperature is indicated by the number inside the tub. The amount of spin is indicated by bars underneath.

A washtub with no bar indicates the machine will use maximum action with a normal spin. The number in the wash tub shows it can be washed at a maximum temperature of 40°c.

A washtub with a single bar underneath indicates your clothes are suitable for a synthetic wash. The machine will wash with medium agitation. The number shows it can be washed at the maximum temperature of 40°c.

The wash tub with two bars indicates your garment should be washed as wool. The machine’s action is reduced, with a normal machine spin. The number in the tub represents it can be washed at the maximum temperature should be 40°c.

This symbol in the tub means your garment is hand wash only. Your garment is too delicate to machine wash. When hand washing en sure the temperature is cool.

This shows that your garments are not suitable to wash.

Dry Cleaning Symbols

The dry cleaning symbol is a circle. the circle will contain a letter - this letter refers to the solvent suitable for this garment. A bar underneath the circle means that a milder process should be used.

This indicates you can dry clean your garment. The p represents perchloroetheylene solvent which is the most commonly used.

The circle with the ‘P’ instructs the dry cleaner to use a perchloroetheylene solvent. The single bar underneath the circle indicates a milder process.

The circle with the ‘F’ instructs the dry-cleaner to use the solvent r113 & hydrocarbon. This is a milder, environmentally friendly process, making it ideal for embellished/decorative garments, milder process for embellished garments

The circle with the ‘A’ indicates that your garment is suitable to dry clean in any solvent.

This symbol states the garment is not suitable to dry clean.

Tumble Dry Symbols

This single box symbol indicates you can tumble dry your garment.

This symbol indicates your garment is suitable to tumble dry, but on a low heat setting.

This symbol indicates your garment is suitable to tumble dry, but on a medium heat setting.

This symbol indicates your garment is suitable to tumble dry, but on a high heat setting.

This symbol means that drip drying is recommended for your garment

This symbol means that your garment should be line or hung to dry. Best results in drying will occur after removing excess water.

This symbol means that your garment should lie flat to dry. This is importand for delicate clothes whose shape could be distorted by hang/vertical drying.

This symbol means your garment is not suitable to tumble dry.

Bleaching Symbols

Strong liquid bleach is most commonly used for disinfectant, and unlike colour safe bleaches used in detergents, it will remove the colour from your clothes. So it is very important to read the care label to make sure your clothes can be bleached first.

This symbol shows you can use a chlorine bleach on your garment. Make sure you follow the recommended strength solution. Generally for a lot of fabrics the solution is 1 part bleach to 100 parts water - please note this is a guide.

This symbol means do not use bleach.
